Materials Needed
- Heavy Cardstock or Drawing Block Backing
- Different Colored Yarn
- Shapes Template featuring oval, star, triangle, and crescent moon shapes
- Googly Eyes
- Double-Sided Tape
- Craft Glue
- Sharp Scissors for cutting cardboard
Instructions
- Prepare the Shapes:
- Print the shapes template on regular paper.
- Apply glue to the back of the printed paper and attach it to a piece of cardstock or drawing block backing. Allow the glue to dry completely before proceeding, alternatively, you can use a glue stick.
- Begin Winding:
- Choose a shape and select a color of yarn. Start by securing the yarn to the shape using a small dot of glue or double-sided tape.
- Begin winding the yarn around the shape from the end in a circular motion. Encourage children to experiment with different patterns and colors.
- Add Details (Optional):
- Once the shape is fully covered, you can add details like googly eyes to make it more playful.
